Dynamicaly created map illustrating the membership of the Hunters Association

The Hunter Association wanted to use some of the data that they collect about their membership to provide a map roughly showing where memebrs lived and a pie chart showing the split of membership around the UK coast. Previously this had been a very laborious process.

The map makes use of google maps functionality. I’ve designed a map that groups the members in to postcode areas (using the first half of the postcode – known as the ‘outcode’) and then plots them on a map of the UK.

Each red marker indicates an outcode in which at least one member lives. The pop up overlay tells you what the district or postal town is and how many memebers live in that outcode.
